Accessibility Information:
Schooner Adventure, a National Historic Landmark built in 1926, presents accessibility challenges due to its historic design and maritime environment. While we strive to accommodate all visitors, please note that the vessel is not fully accessible for assistive devices such as wheelchairs and walkers.
Boarding the schooner requires navigating a gangway and stepping over the vessel’s side, and movement throughout the deck includes uneven surfaces and limited seating. Below-deck access involves steep companionways with narrow steps.
We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations and alternative ways to experience Adventure’s rich history. For more information or assistance in planning your visit, please contact us at: info@schooner-adventure.org or call 978.281.8079.
Card to Culture:
The Gloucester Adventure, Inc. firmly believes that cultural access is essential to public well-being. We are dedicated to ensuring our maritime programs are available to everyone in our community, recognizing that financial limitations should never prevent participation in the joy experienced at sea. We are proud to participate in Mass Cultural Council’s Card to Culture program, in collaboration with the Department of Transitional Assistance, Massachusetts Health Connector, and the Women, Infants, & Children (WIC) Nutrition Program, and the Massachusetts Health ConnectorCare alongside hundreds of Massachusetts museums, heritage sites, and arts organizations. EBT, WIC, and ConnectorCare cardholders can purchase public sailing tickets for $10 per person.
To redeem please email info@schooner-adventure.org or call 978-281-8079 with your EBT, WIC or ConnectorCare card information. See the complete list of participating organizations offering EBT, WIC, and ConnectorCare discounts.
